Here's a list of the songs Pace is most likely to hear when fighting against going to sleep (which is pretty much every night these days). I know it's not a very diverse list but hey, why fight the classics?
In order:
1. "Beautiful Boy" - John Lennon
2. "Golden Slumbers" - The Beatles
3. "Tell Me Your Dream" - Blue Rodeo
4. "St. Judy's Comet" - Paul Simon
5. "Goodnight" - The Beatles
6. "Innocent When You Dream" - Tom Waits
7. "Be My Baby" - Ronettes
8. "Don't Worry Baby" - Beach Boys
9. "Dark Angel" - Blue Rodeo
10. "Train in the Distance" - Paul Simon
...and then whatever pops into my head beyond that. If you'd like some more diverse ideas, here are some threads on AskMetaFilter that cover this theme.
I don't do a lot of "audience participation" threads but would love to hear what your kids/nieces/nephews/babysitting charges liked and/or what songs you think might be good as lullabyes?

I was amazed that the old country/folk song "Brown Eyes" would transfix my son completely up until he was around two years old. It didn't matter what type of tantrum or sadness he was in the midst of the first few notes would calm him. Immediately. Needless to say I used it sparingly in case there was a limited number of uses I could get out of it.
General bedtime singing usually included modified versions of Lyle Lovett's "I Love Everybody" and "If I Had a Boat"; "Tell Me Ma" (Slowed down a lot); and, Paul Simon/Linda Ronstadt's "Under African Skies". Cheers Mike Re: Re: Songs For A Sleepless Baby
I'll have to give "Brown Eyes" a go - I'd love to have one song that did the trick everytime! Thanks for the suggestions!
